Little job we finished today. Took 2 days to complete. The concrete pad that it sits on was already in situ and we built this little Compressor house on top.

The last couple of days we have been working on this roof. The customer had the joist put in and wanted us to sort the boarding, insulation and felting. He had asked me about fitting a rubber roof but finally decided on felt as it is more hard wearing and in our opinion a better option. We first nailed 18mm OSB3 to the joists. This gave us a nice firm deck. Then screwed 126mm Eco-deck insulated board to the OSB. We then torched a 2mm underlay felt and 4mm polyester torch on cap sheet in mineral finish to give it the waterproofing. We then fitted a lead flashing into the rendered wall and also fitted a lead flashing to the upstands where the new lanterns are to be fitted. Another happy customer 👍🏻

Today’s job was another flat roof with a lantern installed. The roof originally had an roof light in it but it was dated and not central to the roof. We stripped the old waterproofing, which was leaking, and removed the old roof light. We stripped the old chipboard which had deteriorated due to the leak and replaced it with OSB3 boards. We cut and trimmed the joists to create a new opening in the roof for the lantern and filled in the old roof light opening. We then covered the boards with a new waterproofing system comprising of 2mm torch on underlay and 4mm polyester torch on cap sheet in mineral finish. We then fitted the lantern. Job completed within the day and a very happy customer was left to admire her new lantern roof. 👍🏻

A little garage roof in Woodend. The chipboard was stripped off and replaced with OSB3. Then 2mm underlay and 4mm polyester torch on felt in mineral finish was applied.

A little job we did in Radstock, Somerset, not long ago. Previously there was quite a steep little concrete ramp to get into the loading bay. The customer wanted a ramp that was less steep and had a flat area on the top to help with loading. A retainer wall had to be built first and then the ramp was created out of tarmac. This allowed the customer to use the loading bay the following day so that there was very little disruption to the business.

A couple of concrete pads that we have built over the last couple of weeks. First the ground was dug off and stone applied to create a firm base. We then built some shutters to create the concrete base, fitted a layer of polythene and applied 2 layers of reinforcing mesh. The concrete was then poured, tampered flat and them power floated to create a lovely smooth finish. There is a pit in each pad and a couple of cable entries. Transmission equipment is then to be placed on these concrete pads with a GRP building covering them.

Haven’t posted a job for a while so I will try to put a few recent ones on. So this is a job that we have done over the last couple of days. We stripped off the old waterproofing, replaced an area of the boarding, which was chipboard and replaced it with Structural moisture resistant OSB3 boards. Then applied a 2mm underlay and 4mm polyester torch on felt in mineral finish. Another happy customer!! 👍🏻

So today we did a felt roof on a customers house in Rugeley. During the day we noticed that someone had jet washed the customers and two of their neighbours tiled roofs. Not only that, apparently they had been charged £1100 for the privilege. THIS IS A TOTAL NO NO. Do not let anybody jet wash your tiled roof. It seriously reduces the life expectancy of the tiles. But don’t take my word for it, please read this article.

Little job we did this week . This is to be an outside balcony for the staff area on the new Lidl being built in Nuneaton by Adston Construction. It is to be finished off with 120mm of insulation before being screed with concrete and tiled. The walls are to be rendered and glass partitions fitted to create a little outdoor space.

Little job we did recently. Company we work for in Nuneaton had this Superbox delivered to site and they wanted to make access to it better. We dug off the existing block paved area, put a layer of stone in to give it a strong base and applied tarmac to the area with a slope and flat area to allow Forklift trucks to load and unload on a flat and even surface.
29 March 2017 - 9:31pm
The job we did today was to replace a leaking 25yr old felt roof and install a new roof lantern on a property in Galley Common, Nuneaton. We stripped the felt and water sodden chipboard and replaced with 18mm OSB3 Structural moisture resistant boards. We then applied a 2mm underlay and 4mm polyester torch on felt. In conjunction with this we created an opening with in the roof, reinforcing it with new joists, and fitted a new roof lantern. Luckily we finished the job just in time before a light shower arrived. Another satisfied customer 😀
29 March 2017 - 8:49pm
Last weeks job was at a factory in Kitts Green, Birmingham. We were asked to replace the existing sunken tarmac yard area with reinforced concrete. We were also asked to build a concrete pad to house some new cooling equipment on some waste ground owned by the company at the rear of the factory.
26 March 2017 - 9:47pm
So at the beginning of the year we were asked to replace the flat roofs, put a new tiled main roof on and improve the dormas at this property in Willenhall. The flat roofs had a GRP system on that was holding a lot of water. We removed the kerbs to the roof and installed a polyester torch on felt system and fitted guttering all round. The Dormas were stripped down to the structural timbers and structural OSB3 moisture resistant boards applied before a layer of breathable membrane and Upvc Shiplap. A new Upvc window was also installed. We finished off by stripping of the main tiled roof, applied a new breathable membrane, new lathes and tiles and finished with a dry fit ridge and verge system.
