Whilst the kids were on their summer holidays, RST went back to school to fix the leaking roofs on William Macgregor Primary School in Glascote, Tamworth. This roof was finished a couple of weeks ago before the kids went back to school.
The roof had been leaking for some time and several roofers had tried to fix the leaks to no avail. Enough was enough and the school asked for a new roof to be applied.
There was several roof lights on the roof that were no longer being used. We dismantled the roof lights, fitted new joists where required, boarded with structural moisture resistant OSB3 boards and insulated ready for the new waterproofing.
Instead of stripping the existing torch on felt off, we was asked to go over the top with the new waterproof felt membranes. We swept off the debris from the roof before priming to help the new felt roofing stick to the old. We then applied a 2mm torch on underlay felt followed by a 4.5mm black mineral torch on Capsheet. All edging details were also finished in the same material.
This roofing system carries our standard 15 year manufacturers guarantee.
