A job we completed recently was this flat felt roof to a rear extension flat lantern roof in Sutton Coldfield.
The extension had been built by a local building company who had fitted the joists ready for us to finish off the roof.
First of all we boarded out the roof with a layer of 18mm OSB3 boarding. We then applied 100mm Celotex insulation before boarding over the insulation with another layer of 18mm OSB3 to give the roof a firm decking.
We then applied a 2mm torch on underlay felt followed by a 4.5mm black mineral torch on Capsheet. With the 2 roof lights on the roof we had to cut the felt and work it out so that the joints would be symmetrical and neat. All edging details were also finished in the same material. The rear of the property was to be rendered so we were asked to fit flashings up the wall only.
